Hi there, My name is Carol Alexander-Price, and I am an Independent Celebrant here in northern Spain. Welcome to my page!.
First of all, congratulations on choosing your date and venue and secondly, if you are looking for an non-traditional Celebrant full of fun then you have come to the right place.
What should you consider when choosing a celebrant?
Everyone deserves the perfect ( for them) ceremony, so it is really important to get it right when you look for your celebrant. A good rapport is essential, because your celebrant will be with you for almost all of the planning process so they need to be someone you trust, like and get along with.
You should choose someone who understands your vision, who listens and creates a ceremony that really reflects you.
Look at how this person presents themselves, how they communicate, look at their gestures. Don´t forget your celebrant is going to be with you in front of your family and friends on one of the most important days off your life.
I am a down to earth empath with a very calm and peaceful personality and I love creating personalised ceremonies that reflect my clients wishes and dreams.
If you think that I could be the right celebrant for you then get in touch. Call or send a WhatsApp to 0034 606200926.
What happens next?
So you have decided that you would love me to create your bespoke ceremony. woohoo!! We´ve checked that I am available on your date and you´re happy with my price, so what happens next?
Well first of all my terms and conditions will need to be agreed and signed and your 30 % booking fee should be paid to reserve the date and then our journey can really begin.
Carol you truly are amazing and I would recommend you to anyone looking to get married in Spain. – Helena Jackson (UK)
Starting around 9 months before your big day and through a series of meetings (or emails if it´s easier for you), we will get to know each other more and after some very carefully thought out questions I will create your unique ceremony. This will lead up to around 2 months before the wedding when we will agree a final draft.
Throughout this time, I will advise you about the content and order of your ceremony and your all important vows and basically guide and support you both.
How to order your Ceremony and what content to include
The beauty of a celebrant- led wedding is there are no restrictions on wording or even order. So you can choose a very traditional style ceremony or something a bit different (or even a mixture of both . As a rule people like the more traditional walk down the aisle but if you are having a micro or small wedding you might prefer to walk in together and everyone to gather around. It´s entirely up to you and of course something we will talk about.
Below I´ve noted some of the content that couples generally like to be included in their ceremony.
Your love story
Your wedding ceremony or vows renewal is the perfect time to take a trip down memory lane and gently remind everyone of the true reasons why you are all together on that very special day. Take some time to remember and rejoice in what you have overcome and what you have achieved. Every ceremony has a different love story, one couples journey can be completely different to another couples journey. As your celebrant it will be my privilege to write your love story.
Personal Vows
Writing personal vows, for some, is a real headache and what a lot of people don’t realise is that vows should be similar in tone and length and as it’s not usual for couples to talk to each other about their vows, I as your celebrant, will be there as your 3rd party. I will guide and help you both separately until you are 100% happy that you’ve got it right.
However if you are really concerned that you´ll forget you words, there are different ways to write vows, such as question vows which are a series of questions usually led by the Celebrant. Statement vows which usually include pledges and promises that couples can personalise to suit them. and many more that I will explain to you in full.
Symbolic rituals
A unity wedding ritual can add a whole new layer to your ceremony. There are some truly beautiful rituals, including some that date back for centuries. They can add depth and meaning to your already beautiful vows and also give you an opportunity to involve your loved ones on your day. Some of the most popular are hand-fasting and sand ceremonies but there are many more. As your celebrant I will talk you through the different types of rituals and help you decide if it´s something you want to include in your ceremony.
Readings, poems, songs and special mentions
I think most of us share a special reading, poem or song with our partner and a celebrant will help you to organise your ceremony to include them. In addition to this, you may want to include a special mention to someone who has been there for you during difficult times or to a friend or family member who for some reason cannot make you day or is no longer with us.
Don´t worry about this too much if you are feeling overwhelmed and undecided because I will get a feel for what kind of content you might like from your emails and/or our conversations and will create something super special that will reflect who you are, including your passions, beliefs and traditions.
So, if you have found your venue and decided on your date, now it´s time to book your Wedding Celebrant. Don´t hesitate to contact me, I´m really looking forward to meeting you.
“As a member of the Celebrants Collective, Carol is always looking at how she can improve herself as a Celebrant. Her dedication and professionalism as a Celebrant, no doubt gets passed on to her wedding couples, who are lucky to have her as their Celebrant” – Natasha Johnson
